This computer does not have the necessary USB software support to allow completion of a USB installation. The installation cannot continue until this is resolved

  1. Create a new folder in your local drive.
    (For example, C:\HP ScanJet Software)
     
  2. Insert the in-box CD into the disc drive.
     
  3. Copy all the files from the in-box CD to the new folder created in the local drive.
     
  4. Locate the folder created in the local drive, and then select the Setup folder.
    (For example, C:\HP ScanJet Software\Setup)
     
    Make sure not to use the “setup.exe” file.
  5. Delete the “usbready.exe” file
     
  6. Locate the folder created in the local drive, and then double-click the “setup.exe” file.
    (For example, C:\HP ScanJet Software\setup.exe)
     
  7. Follow the on-screen instructions to install the software.
    The software driver will install without an error message.
